The concept of convergence, the imagery and symbols associated with it
According to the view of the world, convergence is a point of coming together. A simple definition of convergence from the Webster Dictionary says that convergence is the act of converging and especially moving toward union or uniformity. On the left are pictures and diagrams that represent the state of convergence. Here are some more definitions of convergence, from a world point of view.
1_the occurrence of two or more things coming together.
2_the approach of an infinite series to a finite limit.
3_overlap: a representation of common ground between theories or .
phenomena; "there was no overlap between their proposals".
4_the act of converging (coming closer).
5_in general, convergence is a coming together of two or more distinct entities or phenomena.
6_the act, condition, quality, or fact of converging; a convergent state or quality.
7_the degree or point at which lines, objects, etc., converge
What we mean by convergence is that it is a state of being. Convergence for us is a state of being, a level of achievement or a state of accomplishment whereas an individual learn to discover his passion, his gifting, his calling in life and learn to subordinate himself to God so that he can achieve success and be influential in life. This state of being is achieved when the individual learn to master his assignment in life. How do we arrive at the state of being that we call convergence? We say that you must follow your passionate desire and using feedback from people to determine what aspect of your gift, your talent that you are best at and place it under God so that you can be successful and influential in your sphere. Convergence is the point of intersection where your gifting and your talent meet. Convergence is learning to operate at your pick performance in what God calls you to do, what you are best at. If you feel that you have a calling in your life to make an impact, you first want to know what is your sphere, what you can be preeminent in, what is your talent and what is your unique factor. You want to know what is it that you are passionate about in life or what your real passion in life is and what you are gifted to do, where they intersect is what convergence is. Having a passionate desire and no gifting and talent to go with it is not convergence. Convergence is where your passion and your gifting meet. Convergence helps you maximize your full potential, help you operate at your pick performance. Hence you understand your calling and what you are good at, you are in convergence. To be prominent and influential in life you must first know your sphere of operation which is your passion. Passionate desire points you to where you need to go, which sphere you are assigned to and then you start getting feedback from people to fine tuning your calling. Your sphere is also your assignment and as you fine tuning your assignment, you begin to discover your gift, your talent and your unique factor, this is what convergence is. Then again convergence can be a point of intersection, a breaking point in our lives where God intervenes directly to minister a change.
God has a vision for humanity; “Thy will be done and thy kingdom comes”. We want to influence the world for God, bringing the God kind of idea to bear in every sphere of human endeavors.
Those who engage the work will be challenged and when the pressure of their assignments becomes too great for them to bear, instead of cracking up, believers would have a company to fallback to. This company of believers will appreciate their gifts and anointing. There will be those whose sole intent is to disqualify them from fulfilling their assignments and when the pressure is about to overwhelm them, they will have a company to stand with them. The belief that “it is lonely at the top” will not apply to them; they will always have someone who understands their struggle. Your Invitation to Lead
